01What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files stored on or accessed from a browser or device. Similar technologies may include local storage, software development kits, pixels, tags, and comparable tools that perform related functions.
Some technologies are necessary for a website to function. Others may be used for preferences, analytics, security, fraud prevention, or advertising, subject to applicable law and the choices presented to the user.
02Our Privacy-First Cookie Approach
RealMatchForMe is a dating and compatibility service and may process information that users consider highly personal. We therefore seek to minimize unnecessary tracking and to keep sensitive compatibility-questionnaire data out of advertising technologies.
We do not intend to place private questionnaire answers, private messages, sexual-orientation data, health information, religious beliefs, precise geolocation, or similar sensitive data into third-party advertising pixels or cross-site advertising profiles.
03Categories of Cookies and Similar Technologies
Strictly Necessary Cookies. These technologies support core functions such as account login, authentication, session continuity, load balancing, security, fraud prevention, cookie-consent preferences, and basic website operation. Because the Service may not function correctly without them, they are generally active as necessary.
Preference and Functionality Cookies. These may remember display preferences, language, accessibility settings, search or matching preferences, and other nonessential choices that improve usability.
Analytics and Performance Cookies. If enabled, these may help us understand aggregate traffic, page performance, feature usage, errors, and general interaction patterns so that we can improve the Service. Where consent is legally required, these will not be activated until the appropriate choice is made.
Advertising or Marketing Cookies. RealMatchForMe may display advertising as the business evolves. If advertising cookies or similar tracking technologies are used, they will be described in the applicable cookie-consent interface and handled according to applicable opt-in, opt-out, sale, sharing, and targeted-advertising laws. RealMatchForMe will not use sensitive questionnaire information for third-party behavioral advertising.
04Session and Persistent Cookies
Session cookies generally expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until deleted. The duration depends on the purpose of the technology and should be documented in the website’s live cookie inventory.
The cookie banner or preference center should identify material third-party technologies and retention periods when required by law or reasonably practicable.
05First-Party and Third-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are set by or for RealMatchForMe. Third-party technologies may be provided by vendors that support functions such as analytics, fraud prevention, payment processing, content delivery, customer support, or advertising.
Service providers acting on our behalf are expected to process information only under appropriate contractual and data-use restrictions. A third party that independently determines how it uses information may have separate privacy obligations and policies.
06Cookie Consent and Preference Controls
Where applicable law requires consent before a nonessential cookie or similar technology is activated, RealMatchForMe will provide a consent mechanism before activation.
The website should provide a “Cookie Preferences” or comparable control that allows users to review and change available choices. Withdrawing consent will apply prospectively and may not delete information already lawfully processed before withdrawal.
Consent should be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous where that legal standard applies. Nonessential cookies should not be disguised as required technology.
07Global Privacy Control and Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where RealMatchForMe is required to recognize a legally valid universal opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will process the signal as required by applicable law.
Because RealMatchForMe’s stated business model does not involve selling member data to data brokers, a universal opt-out signal may not alter all data processing. It may, however, apply to any future activity legally characterized as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.
08Browser Controls
Most browsers allow users to block, delete, or limit cookies. Browser controls vary by device and browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent account login or other essential functions from working correctly.
A browser’s generic “Do Not Track” setting may not have a uniform legal or technical meaning. RealMatchForMe will honor legally recognized universal opt-out mechanisms where required.
09Advertising
RealMatchForMe may use contextual advertising that is based on the content of the page rather than a member’s sensitive dating questionnaire. Contextual advertising should not require disclosure of private matching responses to the advertiser.
If RealMatchForMe later uses targeted advertising, retargeting, cross-context behavioral advertising, or similar technologies, the website must update this Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy and implement any required consent, notice, opt-out, and universal-signal mechanisms before the practice begins.
10Sensitive Data and Tracking Technologies
Sensitive data should not be transmitted through URLs, analytics event names, advertising parameters, pixels, or other tracking fields unless there is a documented lawful basis, a necessary product purpose, appropriate safeguards, and any required consent.
The website developer should prevent questionnaire responses and highly sensitive profile fields from being exposed to third-party advertising or analytics vendors through page titles, query strings, form-field capture, session replay, or similar mechanisms.
11Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as technologies, vendors, legal requirements, or website features change. Material changes will be accompanied by any additional notice or consent required by law.
