Who can join

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. One account per person. You must not have been convicted of a felony sexual offence or a violent felony, and you must not be required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction.

What verification badges mean

This matters more than anything else on this page, so we'll be blunt about it.

A verification badge records that a specific check was completed on a specific date by an independent provider. It is a dated fact and nothing more. It is not a character reference, not a prediction of behaviour, and not a representation that any member is safe.

Background checks are incomplete by nature. They vary enormously by jurisdiction, they cannot show anything that was never reported, and they cannot show anything that never reached a court. A clear check is not evidence of a clear history. Please continue to use your own judgement, meet in public, and take the precautions set out on our Safety page — badge or no badge.

How you agree to behave

• •Be honest in your profile and your answers. Misrepresenting who you are is grounds for removal.
• •Don't harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone.
• •Don't ask members for money, investments, gift cards or cryptocurrency. This is the single most common way people are defrauded on dating platforms, and it is an immediate permanent ban.
• •Don't post another person's private information, or share private messages and images without consent.
• •Don't use the service commercially, scrape it, or attempt to reverse-engineer the matching system.

Membership and payment

Core membership is free and supported by clearly-labelled sponsorship. Some verifications carry the provider's own cost; the price is always shown before anything is charged. Where paid features exist, they are billed as described at the point of purchase and can be cancelled at any time.

Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms, that is the subject of a credible safety report, or that we reasonably believe is fraudulent. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.

What we can and can't promise

We provide a platform for meeting people. We do not conduct the relationships that follow, we cannot supervise conduct that happens off the platform, and we do not guarantee that you will meet anyone or that any match will be a good one.

The service is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We'll update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll tell you before it takes effect rather than quietly amending this page.
